Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Approved
The first module gives you the background required to understand the earth’s natural systems and resources and how they can be managed. It also explains the legal framework for protecting the environment and managing environmental improvement. When you complete this module you will be eligible to become an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (AIEMA). This will give you a professional qualification and a competitive edge.
Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001)
The second module will provide you with further theoretical skills needed to develop, implement and operate an environmental management system conforming to the ISO 14001 standard, using the latest software tools. Many organisations are now adopting this international standard, so this gives you real opportunities in this expanding market.
Practical Resource Management
The third module enables you to apply the theoretical knowledge you gained in the previous two modules to real-life situations and will commence with a seven day residential course. This will give you an opportunity to meet your fellow course members and your professional and academic tutors.
Research Project
The research project is an opportunity for you to investigate a current topic in strategic resource management. By completing all three modules and the research project you will gain a formal MRes qualification and will be eligible to become an Associate Member of IEMA.
