Carbon Footprint

Your organisation's energy usage and it's environmental impact

An organisation's carbon footprint is the amount of carbon emitted from energy usage. This can be used to gauge the level of responsibility an organisation must accept for it's impact on the environment, and is an indication of how much carbon offsetting must take place to become carbon neutral.

Carbon offsetting is the process of compensating for the effects an organisation's carbon footprint has on the environment. One way of achieving this is to plant enough trees to absorb the carbon dioxide that has been emitted. When this has occurred, an organisation becomes 'carbon neutral' and guilt-free by reducing it's carbon footprint.
